So what's new on the OEMCameras.com front? We've been busy developing an OEM component add-on to our 35X and 10X optical zoom block cameras.

At first our block cameras were offered as a single unit, and it took some tech savvy production to be able to really use the cameras. We have taken the next step and done the hard work for you. We're featuring a newly developed kit, that provides complete control of your block camera and its long list of features. You can find more information and a data sheet below.

With the development of our new add-on and our further testing with the 35X and 10X modules, there have been recent factory end changes to the 35X zoom camera. There have been improvements to the image quality by minimizing "Chromatic Aberration" by improving the lens's refractive index. More details on this below.

OEMCameras.com is featuring a NEW interface board, the "RHP-OEMPCB-01-KIT" to control the new 35X and the 10X Optical Zoom Block Cameras!

What's on the Board
This board provides a (DB9) serial cable connection to your PC for software control, 12V DC power input, Composite Video Output, and a flat ribbon cable connector to your camera (Ribbon cable included with 10X and 35X zoom camera).

"Block Camera Improvements, Changes, and Benefits"

Image quality through the lens:
RHP-35X-OEM: There have been improvements to the lensing of our 35X zoom block module by minimizing "Chromatic Aberration". Briefly, chromatic aberration is caused by a lens having a different refractive index for different wavelengths of light. This is especially noticed when lenses are in a more zoomed configuration. To your right is an example of this effect. On top is corner detail in an image taken with a higher quality lens; bottom is the same image taken with a non-improved lens showing visible chromatic aberration (especially at the dark edges on the right). - Learn more on Wikipedia.

Part number association:
You may have noticed a change in the part numbers identifying our 35X and 10X modules. What were once the "RHP-35X-OEM" and the "RHP-10X-OEM" are now listed as the "VK-S654R" (35X) and the "VK-U174" (10X) to express that the OEM block modules are backed by the reliable Hitachi brand.
